Beyond Recreation exists to elevate the effects of recreation from that of mere fun to life changing experiences. We do that by providing intentional, entertaining and effective staff trainings, camp performances and therapeutic recreation in a variety of settings.
Founders Anne Henningfeld, MA, CTRS and Michael Jay Garner, each pulled from their experiences in summer camping and performing to create the Audience Choice Training (ACT) Method. Michael’s acclaimed variety show features juggling, music and surprising tricks with everyday objects. As a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, Anne addresses a variety of issues for the pediatric population, in group and one-on-one settings, utilizing what children do best: PLAY!
